Fire fighters tackle smouldering woodchip at UPM paper mill Shotton – Deeside

Fire fighters from Deeside, Flint and Wrexham have been fighting a fire in a 7000 ton pile of woodchip within the grounds of UPM Shotton , zone 4 of Deeside Industrial estate.

Three fire engines, a turntable ladder and the incident command centre are all at the scene of the blaze.

The fire is away from the main buildings and the UPM facility appears to be functioning normally.
