Wrexham Glyndwr staff and students are celebrating again as the University moves up another national ranking table.

The highly-regarded The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2022 has seen Wrexham Glyndwr rise 14 places this year, and recognised as the best University in Wales for Teaching Excellence, scoring 82 per cent in the student survey.

The national newspaper’s list is based on an analysis of student satisfaction with teaching quality and their student experience, entry standards, research quality, and graduate prospects.

Since 2018 the guide also includes social inclusion rankings for universities in England and Wales.

The tables are based on key measures to reflect the diversity of their intake and subsequent success when attending university.

This latest acclaim comes little more than a week after Glyndwr rose more than 40 places in the rankings compiled by another national newspaper.

The University moved up more than 40 places in The Guardian’s University Guide league table, to 66th in the UK, and was again acknowledged for the quality of teaching.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Maria Hinfelaar

Wrexham Glyndwr was also ranked highest in the UK for Adult Nursing for overall student satisfaction in this year’s National Student Survey (NSS).

It has also been successful in gaining a Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) tender to launch an exciting raft of new Nursing and Allied Health Practitioner courses.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Maria Hinfelaar said: “I am delighted with yet another recognition of the quality student experience we provide at Wrexham Glyndwr University.

“This is such good news for our incoming students as well as those already progressing their studies with us, and welcome recognition of the hard work done by staff and the investments we are making.”
