Two arrested near Caerwys after cars performed wheelspins in front of police

Two men have been arrested near Caerwys after cars performing wheelspins in a car park drew the attention of North Wales Police officers who were nearby on a break.
Officers had been dealing with an earlier incident on the A55 near Caerwys before stopping at a fast food restaurant in the area.
Two cars then arrived in the car park, with North Wales Police saying the drivers drew attention through wheelspins, revving engines and screeching tyres.
The first driver was found to be disqualified from driving and over the drink drive limit.
He was arrested, had his vehicle seized, and has been charged with drink driving, with a court date set at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court.
The second driver, a provisional licence holder, was found to have no insurance and returned a positive roadside test for cocaine.
He was arrested and had his vehicle seized, and has been released under investigation pending further test results.
North Wales Police said it would continue to take action against drivers who ignore the law on drink driving, drug driving, disqualified driving and driving without insurance.
