Police appeal after sheep attack in Flintshire leaves two dead

Police are appealing for information following an attack on a flock of sheep in Flintshire, which left two animals dead and seven others injured.
The incident occurred between 9am on Saturday, 7 December, and 11am on Sunday, 8 December, in a field situated alongside the A550 near the Dobshill roundabout and St John the Baptist Church in Penymynydd.
It is believed one or more dogs entered the field and attacked the flock.
PC Dave Allen of North Wales Police’s Rural Crime Team urged the public to come forward with information. “I am appealing to anyone who was travelling in the area and may have witnessed or have footage of the attack to contact us,” he said.
The officer also reminded pet owners of their responsibilities to prevent similar incidents. “I am once again reminding dog owners to keep dogs on leads whilst in areas where livestock are present,” he said. “Additionally, I would urge pet owners to check the security of their garden boundaries to ensure that pets aren’t able to escape.
“Incidents such as these are devastating to farmers, and it is the responsibility of everyone to prevent this from happening.”
Anyone with information about the attack is asked to contact police via their website, by calling 101, or anonymously via Crimestoppers, quoting reference Q184827.
