A family-owned Flintshire business has marked a landmark year of fundraising by presenting two major charity cheques to organisations working across the region.

P&A Group has donated £12,823.97 to MS Society Cymru and £3,320.65 to North Clwyd Animal Rescue following a year-long programme of staff-led fundraising.

The cheque presentation coincides with two milestones for the business, marking 40 years since P&A Group was founded and the 20th anniversary of its Zest Outdoor Living division.

Employees from across the group, including teams from Zest, Pallets and Woodworks, took part in a wide range of fundraising activities throughout 2025.

These included physical challenges such as marathons and half marathons, the MBNA Chester 10K, the Born Survivor obstacle course, the UK’s highest bungee jump at Tatton Park and the Welsh Three Peaks Challenge, which involves climbing Pen y Fan, Cadair Idris and Y Wyddfa.

Staff also organised community and workplace activities including baking events, raffle draws, quiz nights, a community yard sale at the group’s Saltney site and volunteering initiatives.

As part of its support for North Clwyd Animal Rescue, P&A Group employees volunteered a total of 194 hours, including dog walking and hands-on support at the charity’s Trelogan centre near Holywell.

Nicky Owen from North Clwyd Animal Rescue said: “The commitment and generosity shown by everyone at P&A throughout the past year has been truly outstanding. The funds raised will make a significant difference, helping us rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals in need across North Wales.

“Beyond the fundraising, the time and energy given by employees has been invaluable, and we are incredibly grateful for the positive impact this partnership has had on both our charity and the animals we care for.”

Andy Green, Fundraising Manager at MS Society Cymru, said: “We are incredibly proud of what P&A Group has achieved through their fundraising efforts. The commitment shown throughout the year has been outstanding, and the funds raised will have a lasting impact, enabling us to continue providing vital services and support to people living with MS across Wales.

“This support brings us a step closer to our shared goal of stopping MS.”

Andrew Baker, Managing Director of P&A Group, said the year had been a source of pride for staff across the business.

“This has been an incredibly proud year for everyone across P&A Group,” he said.

“I’ve seen real teamwork, resilience and encouragement, with colleagues supporting one another to achieve something truly meaningful. Our fundraising is about more than raising money, it’s about building a culture of care, community and wellbeing.”

He added that the group believes shared activities and time outdoors play an important role in supporting both physical and mental wellbeing.

P&A Group says the cheque presentation also reflects a positive year for the business, with several divisions recognised for sustainability and product innovation.

Over the past 16 years, employees across the group have raised more than £190,000 for a range of local and national charities.
