Connah’s Quay High Street back open following house fire overnight

Update: A section of Connah’s Quay High Street closed overnight following a house fire is back open.

The road was closed just before 10pm on Wednesday evening while firefighters tackled the blaze at a terraced property on the High Street./

The road reopened at around 7am, police remain at the scene and a cordon is in place outside the property.

We have asked the police for an update.

Earlier report: Police have closed a section of Connah’s Quay High Street due to what they have described as a ‘large fire.’

A large number of emergency service vehicles, including police and fire service, can be seen on the main road near the bowling green.

The road has been closed from Maude Street.

In a statement, North Wales Police said: “Police and Fire Service are currently dealing with a large fire near the Festival Gardens on High Street in Connah’s Quay. As a result, the road has been closed – please avoid the area. Thank you for your patience.”

According to Connah’s Quay Councillor Bernie Attridge, the road is closed due to a serious house fire. Posting on social media, he said:

“Connah’s Quay High Street is closed due to a serious house fire. Myself and Debbie Owen have been made aware as local members, and will do whatever we need to do once we get an update. Hope no one is injured fire.”
