Flooding forces closure of Loggerheads Country Park

Loggerheads Country Park, near Mold, has been forced to close today due to severe flooding following 24 hours of heavy rain.
Both the park’s Visitor Centre and Tea Florence are closed, with no access to the Tea Garden for visitors.
River levels remain high, and fast-flowing water has led to the closure of nearby lanes to ensure public safety.
Residents in parts of Mold and surrounding areas are being urged to stay vigilant as flood alerts remain in effect.
Natural Resources Wales has issued warnings for several areas, including Leadmill, Ponterwyl, Glanyrafon, Pentre, and Broncoed.
These alerts highlight the rising river levels and the potential risk of flooding to low-lying land, roads, and properties.
Natural Resources Wales has stated: “River levels are rising. Flooding to property is possible. Flooding of low-lying land and roads is expected. Flood defences are now in operation, and inspections are taking place. Overtopping and/or breaches of these defences may cause flooding to properties at risk. The rainfall is forecast to ease by approximately midnight. We will continue to monitor the situation.”
Another alert remains in place for areas around the River Alyn, from Llandegla to Rossett, where river levels are reported to be above normal, with flooding of low-lying land and roads anticipated.
In Sandycroft, Rake Lane, Manor Lane, and Hamilton Avenue were closed due to flood water, which made the roads impassable.
