First Minister Eluned Morgan has shared her Christmas message for 2024, wishing the people of Wales a joyful and peaceful festive season while expressing gratitude to key workers and volunteers.

In her address, the First Minister said, “Nadolig Llawen i chi gyd. Merry Christmas everyone. I want to wish you all a joyful and peaceful Christmas – wherever and however you’re celebrating.”

Ms Morgan encouraged people to find time for rest and to connect with loved ones during the festive season. She also highlighted the contributions of those working over Christmas, including emergency services, NHS staff, and local councils, saying: “I would like to say a ‘diolch o galon’ to the many people who will be working over the festive season. From our emergency services to our NHS and our local councils – thank you for everything you do to keep us safe at this time of year.”

Acknowledging the importance of community, the First Minister called on people to check in on neighbours and others who may be lonely during Christmas. “Christmas, we know, can be a lonely time for many, so if you do one thing this Christmas, be sure to check in on others within your community. That’s the real spirit of Christmas,” she said.

Concluding her message, the First Minister looked ahead to 2025 with optimism, saying, “Together, we can all look forward to the new year with hope. Nadolig Llawen a Blwyddyn Newydd Dda.”
