Witnesses asked to contact police following Sunday’s serious crash on M56

Cheshire Police are appealing for witnessing to a serious crash which happened on the M56 on Sunday.

The accident involved a white Kia Ceed car which collided with a black Peugeot 308, it happened near junction 14 Hapsord on the North Wales bound side of the motorway.

Traffic was brought to a standstill on both carriageways to allow the air ambulance to land.

The female driver of the Kia sustained serious injuries in the crash, the occupants of the Peugeot were unhurt.

A Cheshire police spokeperson said:

“At 5pm on Sunday 2 August a road traffic collision occurred on the M56 west bound prior to Junction 14. A white Kia Ceed car collided with a black Peugeot 308.
Both vehicles left the carriageway sustaining considerable damage.”
Anyone with information regarding the accident is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 728 of 2 August. Information can also be left anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
