Weekend Weather – Deeside

News and Info from Deeside, Flintshire, North Wales
This article is old - Published: Friday, Oct 3rd, 2014

There are a few yellow weather alerts pinging off the moment, predominantly for Mid Wales, Isle of Anglesey, Conwy, Gwynedd, and further North towards Cumbria.

So, for us it means we will be on the receiving end of a prolonged downpour but nothing to stress about, so far! though we’re sure that’s a pretty fluid situation (boom boom)

According to forecasters we will see rain spread across into our little patch of Wales in the early hours, and continue through to Saturday evening, expect the heaviest rain between 6am and 12pm

Rain will clear up on Saturday evening, overnight will be a bit chilly compared to what we have been used to with temperatures dropping to as low as 6°C.

Sunday will be dry and clear again temperatures will be cooler than of late (as the weather people say) reaching a high of around 14°C

The Met Office Chief Forecaster’s assessment:

A slow-moving active cold front will be reinforced as a shallow wave runs northeastwards overnight Friday into Saturday. This will lead to some heavy and persistent rainfall, with 25 to 40 mm falling quite widely across the warning area, while a few locations may see in excess of 70 mm, much of this falling within a few hours Despite the recent dry conditions, this may lead to localised surface water flooding.

The Chart below tracks from Friday evening through to Sunday afternoon.
