Residents of Saltney are bracing themselves for 10 weeks of traffic disruption as Flintshire council announces plans to commence improvement works in the area.

Work will take place along Chester Road between the junction with Sandy Lane and the junction of Saltney Ferry Road.

The works – which get underway on Monday, January 30 – are primarily aimed at constructing a shared-use footpath and cycle facility, there will also include necessary carriageway improvements.

To ensure the safety of both the workforce and highway users, 2-way temporary traffic signals will be in operation throughout the scheme.

These signals will be manually controlled during working hours to minimize traffic disruption as much as possible.

The council and the contractor, EE Civils Ltd, have apologised in advance for any delay or disruption that may be caused by the essential construction and maintenance work.

They have urged anyone with queries about the work to contact Kieran Jones on 07747757194 or [email protected]
