Police urge vigilance after female cyclist assaulted on coastal path in Deeside

An investigation has been launched following a report that a female cyclist was assaulted on the coastal path in Deeside on Monday night.

The incident occurred near the Hawarden Bridge at around 9 pm on Monday, March 13th, according to the police.

Inspector Wesley Williams has called for witnesses to come forward to help with the investigation.

He stated that the police are increasing patrols along the coastal path for reassurance purposes and urged anyone walking in the area to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately.

North Wales Police said in a statement, “An investigation has been launched following a report that a female cyclist was assaulted on the Connah’s Quay coastal path last night.”

Inspector Williams said, “Enquiries into this incident are ongoing, and for reassurance purposes, patrols will be increased along the coastal path.”

“I would urge anyone walking in the area to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity immediately.

“I am also appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious to get in touch with us on 101 or via the website, quoting reference number A036833.”
