North Wales Police say they were called to the Blue Bridge in Queensferry at around 3.20pm following concerns for the safety of a man who was on the bridge.

Welsh Road was closed in both directions over the bridge for a short period of time as police dealt with the situation.

“Officers attended and were able to engage the man in a conversation where approximately 20 minutes later he was escorted from the scene to a place of safety” said a police spokesman.

Flint RNLI Lifeboat was scrambled as were volunteer Coastguard officers also based in Flint, both were not needed and returned to their respective bases.
