The Complete University Guide (CUG) has rated WGU first in the UK for student satisfaction in the Nursing subject league table, in the 2024 tables. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Nursing has also been ranked first for graduate prospects in the subject league table. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

WGU offers Nursing BN (Hons) courses in Adult Nursing, Children’s Nursing and Mental Health Nursing. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Overall, the guide has ranked WGU second for student satisfaction in Wales, and sixth in the whole of the UK. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The guide has also ranked WGU first for student satisfaction in Sociology subjects – in which WGU offers courses in Criminology and Criminal Justice (BA Hons) and Law and Criminal Justice (BA Hons). ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Counselling, Psychotherapy and Occupational Therapy subjects also performed highly in the league tables – in which WGU offers courses in Occupational Therapy (BSc Hons) – with it rated first for graduate prospects in the subject league table, as well as being ranked third for student satisfaction. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

While, Law at WGU was ranked in the top 10 in the subject league table. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The subject tables are based on six measures (Entry Standards, Student Satisfaction, Research Quality, Graduate Prospects – outcomes, Continuation and Graduate Prospects – on track) and include 130 universities, university colleges and specialist higher education institutions. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Professor Maria Hinfelaar, WGU Vice-Chancellor, said: “We are immensely proud of our strong reputation for student satisfaction, and this year’s CUG league tables certainly demonstrate that once again, particularly in our Nursing and Sociology subject areas. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“Overall we were ranked Top 10 for the whole of the UK – and that’s true testament to the hard work of colleagues, who work tirelessly to ensure our students are provided with the best possible opportunities to succeed in their learning. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“It’s also pleasing that Nursing and Counselling, Psychotherapy and Occupational Therapy subjects were ranked first for graduate prospects. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“However, I feel it’s important to stress that we will not rest on our laurels. We will continue working hard to improve our students’ experience here at WGU to ensure they are able to thrive and succeed, while studying with us and beyond.” ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Compiled by IDP Education Ltd, every year the Complete University Guide releases UK University and subject league tables to support prospective students in making informed decisions about their future. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Nursing at WGU was also ranked in the top five for teaching and first for overall satisfaction among Welsh universities in the National Student Survey 2022. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

It was also rated first in the UK for satisfaction with teaching, as well as second in the UK for course satisfaction and top 10 in England and Wales overall in The Guardian University Guide 2023. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
