North Wales Police officer suspended after being charged with sexual offence

A North Wales Police detective constable has been suspended from duties after being charged with a sexual offence following an incident in the Colwyn Bay area.

Detective Constable Harshey-Jones was arrested in connection with an incident on Thursday 11 June.

He has been charged with operating equipment beneath clothing without consent, contrary to Section 67A(1) and (4) of the Sexual Offences Act 2003.

DC Harshey-Jones appeared at court on 16 June and was granted bail.

He will next appear for a plea hearing at Chester Crown Court on Tuesday 14 July.

North Wales Police said criminal proceedings are now active and it would be inappropriate to comment further.
