Jade Jones Pavilion launches free monthly coffee morning open to all in Flint

News and Info from Deeside, Flintshire, North Wales

A monthly coffee morning is launching at Jade Jones Pavilion in Flint next week, open to anyone who wants to come in for a chat with no booking needed.

The Coffee Social Morning runs from 10am to 11.30am on the last Monday of every month, with the first session on Monday 29 June.

The sessions are free to attend and open to everyone, whether they use the pavilion regularly or have never been before.

Coffee and a slice of cake will be available for £4, with a small coffee at £2.50.

A community bookshelf will also be on offer, stocked with books brought over from Gwella’s nearby Flint library.

Neil Rimmell, Leisure Operations Manager at Gwella, said: “We wanted to create something simple, welcoming and accessible for the local community.

“The Coffee Social Morning is about giving people a reason to come in, sit down, have a chat and spend time with others.

“It’s open to everyone, whether they come along with a friend, meet someone new, pick up a book or simply enjoy being in a friendly space.

“Leisure centres and libraries are about much more than physical activity or borrowing books.

“They are important community spaces, and this is a small but meaningful way to help people feel connected.”

No membership or activity participation is required to attend.

Jade Jones Pavilion is named after the Flint-born Olympic taekwondo champion and is run by Gwella, which manages leisure centres, libraries and heritage services across Flintshire.

The pavilion offers swimming, fitness and flat green bowling alongside its café facilities.
