A new £1.5m archive storage facility on Deeside Enterprise Zone was officially opened last Friday 30 June with former England footballer Michael Owen joining Economy Secretary Ken Skates to cut the ribbon.
The new centre, built on a 1.8acre site acquired from the Welsh Government, is supported by a £304,000 Property Development Grant and is one of the most technically advanced secure facilities of its kind in the UK.
The company has already created ten of the anticipated 18 new jobs since its move from a small regional office in Broughton.
Cleardata has also invested in Wurkplace, a Deeside based company which provides HR, Health and Safety, Training, Payroll and Bookkeeping back-office solutions throughout the UK. The company set up by Karen Owen – Michael’s sister – has also moved into the new facility.
Ken Skates said:
It’s great news to hear that Cleardata – one of the largest document scanning bureaus in the UK – has already won new contracts and created jobs as a direct result of its investment in the fabric of this new facility as well as in state of the art equipment.
As a keen football supporter I’d like to add that I am delighted to be joined at the launch of this new facility by Michael Owen who has had such a distinguished international career as a professional footballer.
It’s good to hear he has retained close links with Wales and taken time out of his busy schedule to support a new business in Hawarden, which he knows well having attended the local school.
The opening event was attended by Cleardata’s clients from around the UK as well as potential new customers who toured the new 18,000 sq ft warehouse facility and the 4,000 sq ft offices.
Cleardata MD David Bryce said:
We’re delighted to see the opening of our new facility, which provides additional capacity for our thriving document scanning and archiving business..  Cleardata have a National presence and are already winning work from all regions of the UK.
The ability to get files back so quickly through scan on demand has made this possible. It’s been a pleasure to watch the building grow so rapidly, with thanks to our developer Portal Construction who have done a fantastic job.
Cleardata’s facility on Hawarden Business Park has been designed to a high specification with enhanced Redcare security and fire systems, including 24/7 CCTV, biometric fingerprint entry, very early smoke detections alert systems, water detection and temperature control.
The company helps to transform manual paper processes for businesses using document scanning and arching services.
It has invested in a bespoke Cloud based Archive Management System that makes it easy for clients to manage their records online.
The system provides a full electronic audit trail of any interaction with the records, allows the management of destruction dates, storage periods, scan on-demand retrievals along with collections and deliveries.
