Mold opticians hand out 80 water bottles to market shoppers during heatwave

Specsavers Mold handed out more than 80 bottles of water to shoppers at Mold Market as temperatures reached 30 degrees.
Team members from the store joined market-goers to share advice on keeping eyes healthy during the hot weather.
Dehydration can reduce tear production, which can lead to dry, irritated eyes, blurred vision and eye fatigue.
People who wear contact lenses can also experience more discomfort and sensitivity in warm weather.
Jack Davies, retail director at Specsavers Mold, said: “It was lovely to meet so many local people during Mold Market Day and share some simple advice about the importance of staying hydrated for eye health.”
“Small steps, such as drinking enough water and protecting your eyes from the sun, can help people stay comfortable during warmer weather.”
“We’re really pleased we could do our bit to help.”\

The initiative follows a bake off and raffle held by the store during Deafblind Awareness Week, which ran from 22 to 28 June, raising £250 for the charity Deafblind UK.
Deafblindness is the combined loss of sight and hearing to the extent that communication, mobility and access to information are affected.
Mr Davies said: “We’re delighted to have raised £250 for Deafblind UK, which provides such vital support, advice and companionship for people living with dual sensory loss, helping to reduce isolation and improve independence.”
Specsavers Mold is open seven days a week.
The store offers a Home Visits service for people unable to leave their home unaccompanied due to disability or illness.
