Deestriders take on Track Marathon Relay and Dee riverbank handicap

Deestriders took on races across north Wales and beyond in a busy week for the club.

On Tuesday, the club held the second instalment of its summer 2k handicap along the Dee riverbank.

On Saturday, Flintshire Run Club’s Track Marathon Relay at Coleg Cambria saw three Deestriders teams take part.

The DS Relay Rookies came third in the mixed team category and second in their age group, finishing in 2:43:36.

The Deestriders Leg-ends finished in 2:46:21, and the Green Queens completed the relay in 3:15.

Angela Deeley represented Wales at the Shrewsbury 5k Masters International, running 20:50.

Matt Davies and Joe Blackwell also competed in the open race, finishing in 19:19 and 26:44 respectively.

Paul Lewtey finished third at the Arrowe Park 5 on Sunday in 34:05.

Other Deestriders finishers at the Arrowe Park 5 included Kieran Wyatt in 38:44, Andy Wainwright in 39:41, Darren Low in 48:14, and Joe Blackwell in 48:15.

At the Chirk 10k, David Temple finished in 52:43, Jay Jennions in 57:06, Adam Roberts in 62:17, and Ally Morrison in 62:18.

Gilly Mayes and Melanie O’Sullivan both finished the Chirk 10k in 71:41.

Marc Dixon completed the Swansea Half Ironman in 6:38:26.
