Nominations are now open for the Mold Town Council Community Awards Scheme 2026, which recognises individuals, groups and businesses who have made a positive contribution to life in the town.

Mold Town Council is inviting residents to put forward nominations for people or organisations living, working or volunteering in Mold, or those who support Mold residents.

The awards scheme, first launched in 2020, enters its sixth year in 2026 and aims to publicly acknowledge commitment, volunteering and achievement within the community.

Mayor of Mold, Paul Beacher, said: “The Mold Town Council Community awards both acknowledge and celebrate the efforts of people, who live, work, study and volunteer in our town, those who have gone the extra mile over the last year to help and support others or who have made a difference to their community.

“We launched the awards in 2020 and this will be our sixth year. Each year we have been overwhelmed by the response that we received and I have been honoured to be part of the judging panel each year. I am once again looking forward to reading through the nominations that we receive and reading all the great reasons and stories about the nominees.

“I would invite as many people as possible to take the time to nominate people, businesses, community groups or organisations in Mold who deserve a public thank you.”

There are five award categories open for nomination. These include a volunteering award for individuals or groups under the age of 25, a volunteering award for those aged 25 and over, Business of the Year, Sporting Achievement Award, and Community Project or Event of the Year.

A sixth award, the Mayor’s Choice Award, will be selected by the Mayor and presented to an individual or group considered to have made an extraordinary contribution to the Mold community or provided inspiration to others.

There is no limit on the number of nominations that can be submitted, but each nomination must include a reason, as incomplete entries will not be taken forward by the judging panel.

Nominations can be made online, by email, or using a paper form. The closing date for nominations is 6 February 2026. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 26 February 2026.
