Flintshire roadworks round-up: what’s closed and where this week

Drivers across Flintshire are facing road closures and temporary traffic lights at dozens of locations this week, with two roads in Ewloe closed overnight by the same contractor.

Liverpool Road and Old Mold Road in Ewloe are both closed overnight on 13 and 14 July for active travel improvement works being carried out by FCC NMWTRA.

Old Mold Road in Ewloe also has a separate set of three-way temporary lights in place until 15 July, following earlier emergency works by OConnor Utilities.

In Sandycroft, Chester Road has two separate sets of roadworks running at present, with two-way lights in place until 4 September for water utility works by DCWW Envolve Infrastructure, and a further three-way light closure planned from 15 to 17 July for additional water works by DCWW Network Plus.

In Flint, a lane closure is in place until today at the Manor Industrial Estate exit onto Holywell Road westbound, for electrical works by Emerald Power.

Chester Street in Flint will have three-way temporary lights from 16 to 17 July for water utility works by DCWW Network Plus.

In Queensferry, Chester Road East and Queen Street are closed until 17 July for gas utility works by Wales and West Utilities.

Nant-Y-Gro in Gronant has three-way temporary lights until 17 July for further gas works by the same contractor.

In Penyffordd and Penymynydd, three separate roads remain closed for water works being carried out by Hafren Dyfrdwy, all running until 29 January next year.

The affected roads are Chester Road Service Road in Penymynydd, and Terrace Lane and Lower Mountain Lane in Penyffordd.

A further closure is planned on Old Hope Road in Penyfordd from 13 to 17 July for private works by Hollingsworth Group, which is also running two-way lights on Kinnerton Lane in Higher Kinnerton until 14 July.

In Bagillt, three-way temporary lights are planned on the Old A548 Pen y Maes Road from 13 to 21 July for telecommunications work by OCU Group, which is also running two-way lights on the A548 near Mostyn on 13 and 14 July.

Gamfa Wen in Talacre will have three-way temporary lights from 14 to 16 July for water utility works by Morrison Utility Services.

Berthen Road in Holywell will have two-way lights from 16 to 17 July, also for water utility works by DCWW Network Plus.

In Buckley, Bannel Lane and Pinfold Lane both have two-way temporary lights planned this week for BT works by MJ Quinn, running from 14 to 16 July and 15 to 17 July respectively.

MJ Quinn is also running three-way lights at the roundabout to Plas Major Lane on the A550 in Padeswood, from 14 to 16 July.

In Deeside, Weighbridge Road has three-way temporary lights until 24 July for construction work by DG Utilities.

At St Davids Park in Ewloe, three-way lights remain in place on the spine road until 15 July for electrical works by Serconnect.

Ash Lane in Mancot has two-way lights in place until 17 July for electrical work by OConnor Utilities.

Two longer-running closures continue elsewhere in the county.

Four-way temporary traffic lights remain in place on Chester Road West in Shotton until 12 September, as part of active travel improvement works on the B5129 being carried out by Flintshire County Council’s Streetscene Services.

A road closure on Factory Pool Lane in Mold, being carried out by Anwyl Construction, began in September last year and is not due to end until 31 March 2027.

Three-way lights also remain at the A541 and B5123 junction near Rhydymwyn until 14 July, for highways maintenance work by Flintshire County Council’s Streetscene Services.
