Interesting bit of noise travelling up the M56 in the last 24 hours, it involves Deeside and the Manchester Phoenix ice hockey team.

If twitter is to be believed, and there’s no reason why it should’nt, right?

Manchester Phoenix will be playing out of Deeside in the new English Premier Ice Hockey League season later in the year.

Phoenix announced plans earlier this summer to build a new permanent venue in Manchester city centre in an effort to grow its fan base.

It’s been reported Pheonix have spent the last few months involved in a dispute with their former home in Altrincham.

However, no there’s no official word on where they will play this season, those close to the team are reporting a deal has been struck which will see the team use Deeside as a base.

An announcement by the Phoenix is due within the next week.
