Man charged with cannabis production in Sandycroft

A 23-year-old man has been charged with the alleged production of cannabis following a police warrant executed in the Sandycroft area.
Officers carried out the warrant at a property where they discovered what was believed to be a cannabis cultivation site.
Forensic examinations were carried out, leading to the arrest of a man from East London.
Julian Istrefi, of Boteley Close, Chingford, has been charged with producing a Class B drug in connection with the investigation.
He was remanded into custody to appear before Mold Magistrates Court today, Friday 9 January.
Istrefi was further remanded to appear before Wrexham Magistrates Court on 28 January for sentencing.
Flintshire North Inspector Rob Stevenson said: “We move into 2026 with a clear message to those who are involved in the production or sale of drugs in our communities that this will not be tolerated in Flintshire North.
“We continue to deliver on our commitment to target those who continue to deal in our communities – whether that be through executing warrants at identified addresses based on local intelligence or through proactive policing as was the case here.
“If you have any concerns relating to the supply of drugs in your area, you can contact North Wales Police on 101, or via our website. You can also make an anonymous report via the independent charity Crimestoppers.”
