Late night River Dee search for person ‘threatening self harm’ called off after nothing found
Coastguard officers, RNLI Flint Lifeboat and police officers were called out to help with a search of the River Dee for a vulnerable person who they believed was threatening to ‘self-harm’
The search took place late on Sunday night into early Monday morning in freezing cold conditions.
The police helicopter hovered over Connah’s Quay and Shotton for more than an hour supporting those on the ground with the search.
Some residents locally took to social media to report the helicopter activity.
Any idea what the chopper is doing flying round the quay? @DeesideDotCom

The RNLI Flint lifeboat was launched at 11.24pm, they were joined by a Coastguard rescue team from the Wirral.
Officers and volunteers from the RNLI searched the river from the Flint Bridge down to the Blue Bridge at Queensferry.
Holyhead Coastguard Operations Centre made the decision to stand the search down as nothing was found.
Police haven’t been able to confirm whether the person was located safely.
