A fundraising page has been set up to help the family of the 10-year-old boy who was hit by a speeding car in Saltney on Sunday.  ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Alfie Watts was hit by the car whilst he was out playing on his bike, he suffered critical injuries and is currently in Alder Hey hospital in an induced coma. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The fundraising page reveals the shocking injuries caused by the collision in which the driver of the car failed to stop. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Alfi suffered a broken skull, shattered leg, broken tibia and fibula, swelling on his brain, he is “covered in cuts and bruises and is wired up to many different machines to aid his recovery.” Wrote Mandy O’Brien who started the fundraising page off. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Mandy goes onto say: ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“We don’t know how long it will take for him to recover fully and his Mum, Dad and brother have a long road ahead, hence the fundraising to ease monetary worries for them if nothing else.” ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“We ask if you can help in any way we would be most grateful, even if it covers petrol costs for his parents its something that will help a little in this time of extreme pain for all of them.” ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The fundraising page which can found here has already received more than £1,000 in donations – beating their initial target within hours. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Police say a 23-year-old man has been charged in connection with the collision. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
