Forum event to focus on Deeside’s future transport links

Deeside Business Forum (DBF) has announced a collaboration with Transport for Wales (TfW) to host a major event on the future of transport, investment and innovation across Deeside Industrial Estate and the wider area.
The event will take place on Thursday 19 February 2026 at Deeside Sixth, Coleg Cambria, in Connah’s Quay.
Ken Skates MS, Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales, will attend to share the Welsh Government’s perspective on regional transport priorities and future investment plans.
Organisers say the event will give businesses and stakeholders a clearer understanding of upcoming transport improvements and how they will support one of the region’s most important employment and economic hubs.
Companies based in Deeside and Flintshire are being encouraged to attend and take part in the discussion.
Lord Barry Jones, President of Deeside Business Forum, said: “Strong, sustainable transport links are the backbone of any thriving region. I warmly encourage businesses across Deeside and Flintshire to join this conversation, your insight and involvement will help shape the future of transport for generations to come.”
Askar Sheibani, Chairman of Deeside Business Forum and CEO of Comtek Network Systems, said: “As a business rooted in the Deeside Industrial Estate, I know first-hand how vital effective transport infrastructure is to our growth and competitiveness. I urge fellow local companies to get involved, together we can help shape transport solutions that support jobs, investment and the future success of our region.”
