Flintshire under 11s football squad set sights on all Wales primary schools title

The Flintshire Primary Schools under 11s football squad is celebrating after being presented with the Tom Yeoman North Shield on Saturday 22 April.

The award recognises the development of the players throughout the season and is a testament to their hard work and dedication.

Congratulating the players, Cledwyn Ashford, Chair of Flintshire Primary Schools said: “I am delighted to share in the success of the squad this year.”

“The boys have worked hard as a team and have developed their football skills throughout the season.”

“Each player should be proud to represent their primary school.”

“The players are a credit to this county, they have displayed some excellent football throughout the season and have remained respectful of their opponents throughout. I wish each and every player success in their future.”

The squad, who has had an outstanding season, will travel to Cardiff on Saturday 6 May, where they will compete for the all Wales Primary Schools shield.

The players are confident and looking forward to the challenge.

In addition to the Tom Yeoman North Shield, the squad also competed in the Beth Satelle All Ability Cup on Saturday, where they were recognised for their hard work and determination.

Andy Jones, Flintshire Primary School Manager, said: “The players enjoyed competing in the all abilities tournament today.”

“It was fantastic to see the quality of football skills displayed by Flintshire, Denbighshire and Wrexham squads today.”

“Flintshire worked hard for their result today, against strong opposition. I look forward to travelling with them to Cardiff next month and continuing their success this season.”
