Flintshire Bridge has reopened following a short closure due to ‘concerns for the safety of a person.’

North Wales Police had closed the A548 over the bridge at around 10.30am.

RNLI Flint lifeboat was also called out, the inshore boat was launched at 10.46am.

Flint HM Coastguard was also called at just after 10:40am – a spokesperson said:

“Team tasked to assist North Wales Police with a incident on the Flintshire Bridge, Connah’s Quay.

Whilst team were approaching the scene we were stood down as our assistance was no longer required as the situation had come to a safe conclusion.

Stood down and returned to station.”

A traffic report for the area at the time stated:

‘Slow traffic due to earlier police incident on A548 Flintshire Bridge between Kelsterton Road (Connah’S Quay Turn Off) and Weighbridge Road.

Traffic was held for a short time to allow police to deal with the incident, sources confirm the bridge is now back open with residual delays.

All lanes have been re-opened.’
