Flintshire to see highs of 32C this week as third heatwave of 2026 continues

Hawarden is forecast to reach 32C on Friday as the UK experiences its third heatwave of the year, according to the Met Office.
The Met Office says temperatures could climb into the mid-30s across parts of the UK this week, with highs of 35C expected on Thursday and up to 36C in some locations on Friday.
Hawarden’s forecast shows a cooler picture than the hottest spots in England, with highs of 28C today, 26C on Thursday, 32C on Friday, 30C on Saturday, 28C on Sunday, 25C on Monday and 26C on Tuesday.
Met Office Deputy Chief Forecaster Tom Crabtree said temperatures are expected to ease across southern and eastern parts of the UK through the weekend and into next week.
He said high pressure will gradually migrate northwards, meaning the focus for the hottest conditions will shift towards the southwest.
The Welsh Ambulance Service is urging people to take care during the hot weather after demand rose sharply during June’s heatwave.
More than 400 extra emergency calls were made to the service every day during last month’s hot conditions.
Darren Panniers, Head of Service at the Welsh Ambulance Service, said warmer weather increases demand and can contribute to incidents such as falls through dehydration, dizziness, low blood pressure, fatigue and reduced mobility.
“People should look out for the warning signs of dehydration, which include confusion or altered behaviour, weakness, excessive tiredness, headaches and reduced appetite,” he said.
“Early recognition and intervention is important and simple steps such as providing cold drinks, ice lollies and foods with high water content can make a significant difference in preventing dehydration.”
Mr Panniers said the public should only call 999 in a genuine, life-threatening emergency.
