Flintshire bin collections to start earlier this week due to Amber heat warning

Flintshire County Council is changing its waste collections this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday because of a Met Office Amber Extreme Heat warning covering the area.
Residents across Flintshire are being asked to put their bins out by 6am on those days so crews can start their rounds earlier.
The Met Office has issued an Amber warning for extreme heat covering Connah’s Quay and the wider Flintshire area from Wednesday midnight through to Thursday 11:59pm, with hot and humid conditions expected both day and night.
The council said the earlier start is intended to help waste crews complete their collections before temperatures reach their peak.
Food waste, black bins and garden waste will still be collected as normal across the three days.
Dry recycling will not be collected on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday this week.
Flintshire County Council said the change is necessary to protect crews working in high temperatures.
Residents whose dry recycling would normally be collected on one of those days should hold it over until the following scheduled collection.
