Festive 'sprinkling' of snow forecast for boxing day as Met Office issue a yellow alert

It looks like we could be in for a bit of festive snow after all this Christmas, the Met Office have issued a yellow alert for sleet and snow around the Flintshire region. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

The Met Office say: ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

An area of rain, sleet and snow is expected to spread eastwards across parts of Northern Ireland, England and Wales during Boxing Day before clearing during the evening and overnight. A lot of uncertainty surrounds how much snow will occur, but there is the risk of several centimetres even at low levels. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

As precipitation clears, roads could turn very icy. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

The public should be aware of the potential for disruption from snow. Please watch for updates to this warning. especially if travelling. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

The local Deeside forecast shows heavy sleet from 6pm onwards on Boxing day. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

The North West of Engalns and most of Wales could be affected by snow the warning states. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​
