Police in Mold are reminding shoppers to secure their purses after three elderly women had theirs stolen within the space of two hours.

All the incidents happened in Mold High Street on Saturday June 18 between 10am and 12noon.

One victim had her purse taken from a handbag attached to a Zimmer frame.

Sgt Sue Richards said;

“Although this is not a common crime in Mold, I would urge shoppers, especially women with purses, to make sure that they are put safely in their handbags.

“This should be done as a matter of routine, but particularly this Saturday.

“We have some purse bells and cables at Mold police station front desk, if shoppers would like to collect them.”

Anyone with information about these thefts can contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. The crime reference numbers are RC16089417, RC16089471 and RC16090430
