Detectives in Chester are seeking the owners of gold jewellery which was discovered in a park.

Police stopped a Ford Transit van with three men inside just before 11.30am on Friday 28 September on Vicars Lane in Chester.

During the stop one of the passengers was seen to get out of the vehicle and throw a carrier bag into Grosvenor Park. Officers searching the area recovered a bag which contained gold jewellery.

The hoard includes Sovereign rings, a St.Christopher pendent watches bracelets and a distinctive ‘Leukaemia care’ pin badge.

Three men, aged 29, 22 and 2 rings,6, were arrested on suspicion of burglary and have been released under investigation.

Detective Constable Keith Campbell, of Chester Beat Initiative Team, said: “As part of our investigation we want to identify who the jewellery belongs to, whether any offences have been committed and to reunite it with its owners.

“The jewellery could be from almost anywhere in the UK, therefore, I would encourage people to show the photos of the jewellery to their friends and family and contact us on 101.”

Anyone with information should contact Cheshire Police on 101 or via https://www.cheshire.police.uk/contact/general-enquiries/quoting 18100303746.
