Carl Sargeant AM for Alyn and Deeside wants to urge the public to nominate any women or organizations within the local area who are worthy of recognition for their hard work as part of the Womenspire17 awards.

Womenspire recognises women for every aspect of life, from personal achievements to outstanding contribution, whether it’s in their private or professional lives or in the wider community. The awards showcase the remarkable accomplishments of women across Wales and will inspire future generations.

Nominations are also open to organisations and employers in the public, private and third sector who are committed to gender equality and providing the support and development required for their female colleagues to achieve and prosper.

This year’s awards are on June 21st 2017 at the Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff. Over 300 women attended Womenspire 2016, to recognise and support women living and working in Wales and organisers hope this year’s awards will be even bigger and better.

Carl Sargeant AM said:

“With International Women’s Day being such a success a few weeks ago, we need to ensure the legacy of IWD lasts beyond the day.

“This award ceremony is a great opportunity to recognise any women and organisations who are making a change within the community who are worthy of recognition.

“I’m urging residents in Alyn and Deeside who know an inspiring woman or organisation being bold and pioneering positive change, to please nominate them for a Womenspire 2017 award.”
The deadline for nominations is April, 20, 2017. If you would like to nominate someone or to find out more about the event go to cteg.org.uk/womenspire17
