Deeside-based Delsol ensures skincare products from award-wining manufacturer  Gelicity get on the road to their global destinations

More than three million items were dispatched in the last year by Gelicity, via Delsol,  to its customers in Russia, Japan, South Africa, Canada, New Zealand and America, as well as the Middle East and across Europe.

Gelicity  was launched 10 years ago by friends Wayne Walton and Paul Morris, with relaxing beauty treatments aimed at adults enjoying spa sessions and hotel breaks.

But demand came from families for a child-friendly range and now the junior version, branded as Zimpli Kids,  makes up 90% of the items shipped out of Flint.

The products are manufactured at Gelicity’s factory on the Castle Park Industrial Estate by a 20-strong workforce, with packaging in a variety of languages to meet the requirements of customers – either individuals via its online site, or major retailers such as Walmart and Macy’s.

Gelicity’s managing director Wayne Walton said:

“Kids just love the thick gloopy gel that our products create in their bath. It means they enjoy bath time, making it easier for parents at what can be a demanding time. The children come out of the bath clean and happy, and the products are easily washed away.

“Our products are safe, unique and extremely fun – they are environmentally safe and non-irritant. There is nothing else on the market quite like them.

“We  supply 30 countries  – 85% of what we make at Flint is exported around the world. That’s where Delsol comes in.

Delsol’s drivers pick up our product from our Flint factory, when we want, and make sure it gets to our customers in the UK, Europe and across the world quickly.

Among Delsol’s regular drivers collecting parcels from Gelicity is Stuart Reid from Connah’s Quay.

He said: “I am often here picking up parcels that are heading off around the world. Gelicity kindly let me have a few samples of the Gelli Baff for my niece and nephew, and they loved them.”

Gelicity has racked up awards, including Top Toy and Welsh Exporter of the Year. Its  YouTube videos for the Zimpli Kids range have been watched more than a billion times, with sales further boosted since Walmart decided to stock the Gelli Baffs in 900 of its American stores.

The Zimpli Kids range is also stocked by renowned US toy giant Macy’s in its 200-plus branches.
