John Collister from Deeside based Plumbing merchants Collister & Glover will be at Flintshire Business Week which runs from the 15th – 25th October 2013.

Screenshot from 2013-10-10 15:12:24The business week has been running since 2007 and as always there will be various events being held throughout the county.

Collister & Glover will have a trade stand at the opening day exhibition held in the Deeside Leisure Centre, and he supports the initiative 100%.

Events like these are very important. They give local companies a shop window to promote themselves and their products to a wider audience and network,” he said.

The firm’s Managing Director believes that by attending he will get the chance to “meet new customers whilst presenting existing and new products to new and existing customers”.

The ten day event will showcase what Flintshire has to offer.

The Deeside Industrial Park is 2,000 acres of prime business units and is home to firms including Toyota and Iceland Foods.

Collister & Glover was established in 1977 and John Collister believes their Deeside location has been a huge boost for them.

Deeside is the gateway to Wales or the Rest of the World, depending on which way you are travelling, perched on the edge of two great countries Deeside is well placed to service both countries.

With a diverse range of industries and excellent transport links and skilled local labour force a good work/life balance is easily attainable in North East Wales,” he said.

Business is looking up for the Flintshire firm and despite the recession the company has grown.

Explained Mr. Collister:

“Whilst traditional business locally has suffered due to increased competition from the nationals and loss of clients through closures and liquidations, we have been able to offset this with an increase in our internet business. This now represents 30% of our turnover.

The internet has turned a North Wales business into a source of supply for businesses and individual customers throughout the UK and Internationally.

Our customer base is now much more diverse than it has ever been in our 36 year history.”

Collister & Glover will be at stand 45 at the one day business exhibition 15th October Deeside leisure centre
