UPDATE:

It appears the path is only being opened weekends while work continues Monday to Friday…..

Great news! a section of cycle path which has been closed since November for flood defence work has reopened.

The public foot and cycle path which runs alongside the River Dee from the blue bridge at Queensferry to Hawarden bridge had been closed for eight months.

The path was closed for essential flood defence work to be carried out in preparation for the Northern Gateway site development.

Sustrans Cymru tweeted earlier today: NCR568 open again at Hawarden Bridge – just in time for summer. But please follow signs!
