Connahs Quay drugs raid nets large amount of controlled drugs

Police say  a warrant executed by the Priority Crime Team at Chestnut Court, Connah’s Quay yesterday afternoon August 4 recovered several kilos of controlled drugs.

A 34 year old man and a 40 year old woman resident at the address were arrested on suspicion of intent to supply a controlled drug and are currently in still in custody awaiting interview.

Inspector Ceri Hawe said;

“This is a fantastic result which has prevented these drugs being dealt in the area. 

 “This sends out the clear message that people who commit these offences will be targeted by the police.  We are working closely with the local councillors and residents to address this issue.”

Councillor Gill Faulkner said;

“We at the Town Council are aware of the increased drugs activity within Connahs Quay. We fully support Deeside Police in their actions and that they have listened to the resident`s concerns.

“As Secretary to Pen Y Llan Tenants and Residents Association,  this is welcome news on the success of the recent warrant and the seizure of a large quantity of drugs.”

police describe the successful operation as ‘intelligence -led’  ‘Operation Scorpion’, part of North Wales Police’s on-going effort to tackle drug production and supply.
