Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith children’s hospices are encouraging people to take on a new challenge in 2026 to help raise funds for children and families across North Wales and the border counties.

The charities, run by Hope House and Ty Gobaith, support more than 750 local families and say they need to raise around £10 million each year to provide specialist care for children with life-threatening conditions.

A programme of fundraising events has already been announced for 2026, offering a range of activities from physical challenges to community-based events.

These include a Valentine’s Challenge in February, a walk along the Llangollen Canal in March, a tandem skydive in April, an Anglesey abseil in May, and an overseas trek in Morocco later in the spring.

Alison Marsh, Head of Fundraising, said: “We have been blown away by the support we received from our supporters throughout 2025. From our amazing events such as Eat Cake, our Valentine’s Challenge, our incredible Dark Runs to our raffles and Quality Moments Matter campaign, which raised over £811,000 alone in just 36 hours, the support we have had over the last year has been nothing short of incredible.”

She said continued backing would be vital as the new year begins.

“Come January 1st the reality is that we need our wonderful community come together again to help us raise the money we need,” she said.

“We have lots planned for the year and to kick start the year we have made some brilliant events live for people to sign up to on our website.”

Ms Marsh added that people who are unable to take part in an event can still support the hospices through regular monthly donations or by joining the Hope House Lottery.

“There really is something for everyone, but for those not in a position to sign up to an event just yet but would still like to support us, then you can make a regular monthly gift donation or sign up to play the Hope House Lottery for as little as £1 a week, and you could win prizes of up to £1,000 each week,” she said.
