Saltney ‘hit and run’ – local man arrested

Police say a local man has been arrested in connection with the hit and run in Saltney this afternoon.

A 10-year-old boy was seriously injured, he was airlifted to hospital, police say his condition is described as critical.

The collision happened on Park Avenue in Saltney just after 4.15pm, when a grey Ford Fiesta collided with the boy and failed to stop.

The vehicle has been located and will be forensically examined.

Park Avenue was closed for several hours while police carried out investigation work, it has since reopened. it has since reopened.

Earlier a police spokesperson said:

“Enquires are underway, and officers investigating are extremely keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have information regarding the incident.
