Builder looks to add 49 more homes to ‘Broughton Park’ development.
A planning application will be submitted by Bloor Homes in the next few weeks, the proposal is to build 49 houses on greenfield land sandwiched between the A55 and the new ‘Broughton Park’ development which is currently under construction.
The map below shows the existing development in blue, the red shaded area is the proposed land for additional housing.
The screening document has been submitted to Flintshire planning officers, the aim is to find out whether any proposal will need an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) before making a formal planning application.
If the development is approved the total number of new houses being built will jump to over 310.
Residents in Broughton are already concerned about the impact on roads infrastructure, schools, and medical facilities in the area given the impeding influx of people.
There are a number of major projects underway or in the pipeline including the £13 million Broughton Shopping Park expansion, the Warren hall Business park proposal, and the ‘Chester bypass’ proposal potentially adding to an already congested road system.
