Bike owners of Connah’s Quay and Shotton be on your guard – there’s been an increase in thefts recently

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Police are warning cycle owners in Connah’s Quay and Shotton to be on their guard following an increase in the number of bikes being nicked in the area recently.

During March and April this year, twelve bikes were reported stolen in the local area versus five for the corresponding months last year, figures for the most recent months aren’t available as yet.

Sergeant Bethan Pritchard, of the Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team, is encouraging cycle owners to play their part in ensuring that they do not leave their bikes unattended without taking the necessary security measures.

The OWL Watch team will be at Connah’s Quay Festival on Sunday 2nd July were cycle owners can get advice on safety & security stall, they will also have locks and cycle marking kits available to purchase.
