BAFTA-winner Richard Elfyn leads cast of new Atlantis play at Theatr Clwyd

A new play about a Welsh coastal community facing rising seas will run at Theatr Clwyd in Mold from 6 June to 4 July.
Atlantis, by George Devine Award-winning writer Emily White, follows characters Bryn and Gwen as they try to save their home, while their town is told it will produce Britain’s first climate refugees.
The production is directed by Guy Jones and will be staged in the venue’s Theatr Weston space.
Bangor-born actor Richard Elfyn, whose credits include The Crown, Hinterland and Pobol y Cwm, plays Bryn.
Rhyl-born Catrin Aaron, known for Coronation Street and Carnival Row, and Vivien Parry, whose credits include Holby City and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, also take leading roles.
They are joined by Alfie Llewellyn, Eirlys Lovell-Jones and Sara Otung, with a local ensemble featuring Albie Chamberlain, Cole Davies Hughes, Florence Edwards, Emily Hughes, Etta McGee and Gwennan Smith.
Writer Emily White said: “This play is about a family and what is at stake for them… it is a human story as much as it is a climate story.”
Tickets start at £15 and are available from theatrclwyd.com or by calling 01352 344101.
