Asda fuel price cut – will other Deeside petrol stations follow suit?
Petrol stations across Deeside have yet to react to Asda`s fuel price cap introduced at its Queensferry petrol station on Friday
From today across all Asda forecourts customers will pay no more than 128.7per litre on unleaded and 135.7per litre on diesel, in what will be the third price cut in as many weeks, fuel at Asda is now the lowest price it has been this year.
As of this morning (Friday) petrol at Asda was 9.2 ppl cheaper than Queensferry service station 500 metres away.
Andy Peake, Asda’s Petrol Trading Director said:
“Families across Britain are crying out for help when it comes to managing their budgets and we know every fuel reduction makes a real difference. Our prices are the lowest they have been all year and our national price cap on fuel benefits everyone across the country, meaning that no-one filling up at Asda is forced to pay a premium for their fuel because of where they live.
While prices may be the lowest in Deeside, a combination of maintenance work at the petrol station, and the increase media attention due to the price cap, has seen larger than usual queue`s at petrol pumps, and traffic flow to and from Asda`s car park has been disrupted by the queues.
