Carl Sargeant of the Welsh Labour party has today been returned as the Assembly Member for Alyn and Deeside for what will be his fourth term.
Mr Sargeant, of Connah’s Quay, won with 9922 votes, a majority of 5364.
Mr Sargeant said: “As a local man rooted in my community I’ve been proud to represent the people of Alyn and Deeside since 2003.
“As a party we’ve fought a good campaign and we’ve listened to what people are telling us on the doorsteps. We reflect their priorities which are boosting jobs and growth, taking care of the health service, and standing up for our steelworkers.
“I’d like to thank the people of Alyn and Deeside for putting their trust in me and in Welsh Labour. You can be sure I will continue to work hard for the people of Alyn and Deeside ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

00:30 – Election posters ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

A complaint was lodged on Thursday with Flintshire Couty Council about election posters being sited on council owned land. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

There appeared to be an early morning Labour analogue wall/fence spamming operation with a few co plints of the twitters about a mass of signs appearing. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The Returning Officer said: “posting election material is not permitted. All parties are advised to remove such material within an hour of it being spotted/a complaint coming in as in this particular case where the party has been contacted.” ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The posters are still in place… ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
