Deeside Round Table have made a donation of £300.00 to the 1st Sandycroft Brownies, after receiving a requested from there Brown Owl Lesley Povey for funding.

The 1st Sandycroft brownies meet every Tuesday in St Francis church in Sandycroft, Deeside

Lesley said “We have been running for 7 years now and always have a full pack and waiting list for girls to join us when they reach 7.

“Unfortunately this year our census bill that we have to pay to had come in at £33.50 for each brownie and each leader . We did not have enough money in our funds to cover this and if were unable to pay this by March we would have to close until we could pay it. We were £200.00 short.

“We had asked parents for some donations but most of our girls come from struggling families who at this time of year are facing their own money worries”
Lesley also said “ We are very grateful to Deeside Round Table for this money – it’s going to make a big difference to the girls, we are very grateful to all the guys that are involved with the table and the work that they do”

Chairman of Deeside Round Table & Area 36 Dave Tilston Said “ We are delighted to help here it’s a good cause and it is projects like this are at the heart of the community in Deeside these children will remember them time in brownies for the rest of their lives”

Dave added “They requested just £200.00 however we felt that we needed to give them an extra cushion so we put an extra £100.00 in for them, this is only a small amount of money but it’s going to have a big impact on the Brownies in Sandycroft, and this is what we are here for relatively small amounts that fall under the radar of other originations that make a big difference ”
