20 year old who killed sister at a North Wales caravan park jailed for 5 years

A 20-year-old man who fatally choked his younger sister at a north Wales holiday park has been jailed for five years.

Matthew Selby was sentenced at Mold Crown Court today, Friday, December 15 for the manslaughter of his 15-year-old sister Amanda.

The incident happened at the Ty Mawr holiday park in Towyn on 31 July 2021.

Mold Crown Court heard Selby had autism and mental health conditions that triggered the attack, the BBC reports.

Following Amanda’s death her family released a statement which said: “Amanda was a loving daughter and granddaughter – she was caring, thoughtful, liked to help others and very much loved.”

“She will be very sadly missed.”
