Section of A55 in Flintshire reopens following earlier collision

Update 2. – 12am The A55 eastbound entry to Ewloe loop has reopened following earlier collison.

An image taken from roadside cameras shows the road is now open.

Update 1. A section of the eastbound A55 in Flintshire is currently closed due to a collision.

Traffic Wales posted an update on social media stating:

‘A55 North Wales Expressway Eastbound entry slip road closed, very slow traffic due to accident, single vehicle involved at J33B A494 (Ewloe)’

It is understood two vehicles have been involved on the entry into Ewloe loop.

A police helicopter has been spotted above the Ewloe Loop area of the A55 but its not known if this is related to the incident.

The latest traffic report for the ares states:

‘North Wales Expressway Eastbound entry slip road closed, very slow traffic due to accident, single vehicle involved at J33B A494 (Ewloe)’
