Scores of people across North Wales will be unable to spend Christmas Day with their families due to demands of work, including emergency service personnel, carers and caterers.

Mr Sargeant said:

“While many of us will be enjoying a day at home with our families and tucking into our Christmas dinner, there will be hundreds of people in Flintshire and across the region hard at work.

“I’d like to say a big thank you to them for their efforts, particularly those in the emergency services who may be working through the night to keep us all safe.

“I hope they get the opportunity to spend some quality time with family and friends.”
