The Domestic Abuse Safety Unit in Deeside this week took delivery of some new collection boxes, which will be passed on to local businesses who want to support the charity.

The Shotton-based unit offers a lifeline and vital support network to people escaping violent and abusive domestic situations and is currently helping more than 150 Flintshire families.

Alyn and Deeside AM Carl Sargeant, who has worked with the unit for several years, said:

“I’m really pleased that DASU have set up their own collection boxes and that local businesses will have a chance to show their support for their work.

“Many people are still not fully aware of the fantastic work of the DASU staff and I hope this fundraising drive will help to raise the unit’s profile.

“This service is saving lives in Flintshire every year and I would urge local companies to get involved in the fight against domestic abuse by setting up a collection box at their premises.”

For more information or to request a box, contact DASU on 01244 830436
